Tuscarawas County Anti-Drug Coalition invites communities to participate in third annual HOPE Sunday
(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The Tuscarawas County Anti-Drug Coalition is again partnering with local churches across denominations to bring hope to communities impacted by drug addiction.
On Sunday, September 27th, coinciding with National Recovery Month local churches will come together to recognize ‘HOPE Sunday.’ As part of the countywide event, the Rove Creative Co. team, an extension of The Ezekiel Project in New Philadelphia, will provide a short video called “Looking Up” that encourages faith-based communities to actively seek out the lost and hurting and love them with the love of Christ.
Participating churches will receive the video and are asked to share the information with their congregations. ADC members will also provide a brief script that can be used before or after the presentation, bulletin inserts that will include prayer requests from the community and information on local resources. Materials will be provided to churches that will support either an in person or virtual service.
Last year’s event included participation from nearly 100 churches across Tuscarawas County.
“The importance of coming together as a community for prevention initiatives continues to be a priority,” explained ADC Coordinator, Jodi Salvo. “Year after year our community shows up in this effort as we wrap our arms around those who are hurting while ensuring resources and support are readily available. And just like it’s said in the video…God isn’t done with you yet.”
Churches interested in participating can still do so by contacting Jodi Salvo at 330-440-7319 to receive more information and materials.
